We're excited to welcome Jessica McMakin to the Kelly family!
“As a proud alumna of Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School, I am excited to be the new Economics and U.S. Government teacher and Assistant Girls Soccer Coach. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Lamar University, and I am currently completing my Texas educator certification while bringing three years of successful classroom experience.
Before joining Kelly, I spent three years at West Brook High School as an English II Adjunct Teacher. Throughout my time there, my students consistently ranked among the top-performing on-level English II classes in the district. I also served as the JV-B Head Girls Soccer Coach for two years, where I helped create opportunities for student-athletes who were new to soccer to grow in confidence and experience a positive team environment.
Outside of school, I serve as the caregiver for my 87-year-old grandmother, who has played a central role in my life and has supported my education and personal growth over the years. I consider caring for my grandmother a privilege and a way to give back to someone who has given so much to me.
In my free time, I enjoy all things outdoors, especially horseback riding, fishing, hiking, and exploring America’s national parks.
I am grateful for the opportunity to return to the faith-filled Kelly community, where some of my favorite teachers served, and I consider it an honor to serve the next generation of Kelly Bulldogs.”
